Chioma Rowland, fiancée to popular singer Davido has debunked domestic violence rumours making rounds in the media.
Chioma who tries to keep a low profile on social media went ahead to call on other ladies to never allow a man lay his hands on them while they keep quiet. In an Instagram post, she wondered where the domestic violence stories emanated from and urged those showing concern to calm their nerves as such has never and will never happen. Read what she wrote below… “I know you guys absolutely love to spread all sorts of rumours and stories for your entertainment and I’ve known from Day 1 what to expect from blogs and the internet especially with myself and family being in the public space.
“I have never once come out to respond to any blogger or react to any rumour mongers before as quite frankly it has never been my nature to engage in online battles or pay too much mind to social media. But I must say I have found quite disturbing the stories of domestic abuse between myself and David and for once feel a need to speak up. Domestic violence and abuse is NO JOKE and not something to ever take lightly. Never has there ever been an incident of abuse in my home. He has never in his life lifted a finger to touch me and I have never so much as even pushed him.
“I believe with everything we peddle as human beings whether offline or online, we should have a bit of fear of God more so when speaking on things we know absolutely nothing of. “I’m not sure where in the world such stories have started from, but I want to ensure everyone showing concern whether fake or real, that such has never and will never happen. Further, we do not take such allegations of abuse lightly at all and if such persists then we will be jointly taking up action against the perpetrators of these disgusting rumors. “To the beautiful young ones out there, never ever allow a man to lay his hands on you while you keep quiet. If you were ever to suffer such, ensure you SPEAK UP! With all that is going on in the world right now, we most certainly can not sit around and condone or encourage women to condone such! Love, Chioma ❤️͏

…Says Orientation camping proposed to wait for 24 months due to COVID-19 Pandemic
Contrary to reports circulating in the mainstream media, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo did not call for the suspension of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
Osinbajo’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, made this known on Tuesday via Twitter.
He said, “It is important to correct that it is the paramilitary orientation camping that is being considered to be suspended for at least 24 months, NOT the deployment to places of primary assignment i.e. the longer part of the NYSC programme would NOT be affected in case this idea is okayed.”
The Economic Sustainability Committee in its report submitted by Osinbajo last week, recommended the direct mobilisation of prospective corps members to their places of primary assignment.
It stated explicitly that the PCMs should be made to skip the camping exercise to maintain social distancing as part of measures to stop the spread of the coronavirus disease.
To put it directly, the Economic Sustainability Plan DID NOT call for the suspension of NYSC for two years as erroneously reported in the media; it ONLY recommended the interim suspension of the three-week paramilitary camping that precedes primary assignments.
For the records, the Plan partly read, “The immediate focus in the Education sector is to address the disruptions caused by the pandemic and ensuing (sic) social distancing measures at all levels of education. Practical steps will be taken to minimise disruption to learning, utilising technology as appropriate.
“Specifically, virtual learning will be implemented (either online or through broadcast), virtual convocation ceremonies or issuance of certificates (with postponed ceremonies) should be implemented to continue educational progression.

The letter read in part, “We have been instructed to demand and we so hereby demand from you the following: That your client makes an outright apology and a total retraction of each and every false allegation made against and concerning our client. “The said apology and retraction shall be published in four national dailies with wide circulation in Nigeria as well as on social media platforms and handles being used by your client and her hirelings.
“That your client makes a compensatory deposit of the sum of N100m only through this chambers in favour of our client to assuage his battered image.” In the letter, D’banj stated that his accuser was nothing but a gold digger who was on a mission to destroy the reputation he had built for nearly two decades in the music industry.
